What is APSA?

As the largest organization at the USC School of Pharmacy, the American Pharmacy Student Alliance (APSA) is a professional pharmacy organization unique to USC. APSA is an umbrella organization that encompasses five independent organizations:

American Pharmacists Association (APhA)

California Pharmacists Association (CPhA)

American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)

California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP)

International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF)

Why should I join?

APSA members have the opportunity to represent our profession and our university on a nationwide level while developing personal, professional, and leadership abilities through unique programming and networking events. APSA is a distinguished organization that prioritizes unity among the profession, legislative outreach to move our profession forward, and award winning patient care projects. APSA embodies everything that the Trojan family represents: unity, outreach, and progress.

Pharmacy is a constantly evolving profession. APSA allows its members to be at the forefront of change alongside fellow students and pharmacists.

How do I join?

The APSA family welcomes you to the 2023-2024 academic year! Start off the year right by joining APSA! We are continuing to reinvent ourselves and expand programs for our members. By becoming an APSA member, you will be able to attend local and national conferences at a discounted rate, receive scholarships, network at professional events, take up leadership positions, and much much more. Registration Steps:

1) Complete the electronic APSA application

2) Venmo APSA’s Venmo account (@USC-APSA)

3) Write in the memo section if you are applying for Dual Membership, APhA/CPhA/IPSF Single Standard, or ASHP/CSHP Single Standard, and your full legal name.

4) After you register for APhA please e-mail the receipt confirmation to our Director of Membership:

Membership Requirements

To remain an ACTIVE APSA member, students must perform the following requirements per year:

·1 Health Fair / 1 Vaccine Clinic

·3 General Meetings

·1 Local Association Meeting/Conference

·1 Professional Event

·1 Committee (P1 and P2 only) – Committee Manual

You must perform all these requirements for 3 years and pay dues for the 4th year to get a graduation cord. Here is a link of the current credit log.
